THE Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington has been voted the best visitor attraction in the UK by a leading tourism industry magazine.
For a second year the museum has been recognised by readers of Going Places magazine, for its friendliness and welcome, cleanliness, quality and content.
Ken Darville-Smith, of Going Places, said: “We are very happy to recognise great visitor attractions through these awards based purely on the numerous responses we receive from our readers.
"It is truly exceptional for an attraction to win consecutively, which the Yorkshire Air Museum has just done, having won the same award in the 2010/11 season.
“The Museum is clearly winning the hearts of its visitors and our congratulations go to them for this tremendous achievement.”
