KATE Rankeillor checked out on 70 with a 20, bull shot as Acomb ‘A’ beat Severus ‘A’ 8-3 in division two of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League.
Acomb had victory secured after winning the first five legs, with Rose Gray sealing the win.
Sue Richardson put Severus ‘A’ on the scoresheet and they added two more points to their tally by taking two of the three pairs.
Division one front-runners Cueball ‘B’ were denied a total clearance at Magnet by vice-captain Maggie Tottie.
Tracey Farmeary closed on 76 and her daughter, Natalie, shot out on a two-dart 74 (treble 14, double 16) for the snooker club.
Lynn Wilstrop, Emma Lamb, Caroline Whittaker and Burnholme captain Marj Pearson enabled them to enter the pairs against visitors Tramways with a 4-2 advantage.
However, they had to wait until the final game to secure match points, when Pearson combined with Claire Murphy.
Cueball ‘A’ were tied 3-3 with visitors Flag, who took the lead as Jane Dobson and Chris Hedley joined forces before Joan Hunter and Faye Hawksby levelled. Linda Welch and Sharon Rishworth snatched match points.
Muriel Britton gamed in 23 darts as Lions won the first five legs at Slipper, Anne Bass sealing the win. Vicky Middleton was involved in both Slipper points, combining with Doreen Johnstone in the pairs.
Division two leaders Bootham Con Club were given a hard tussle before they edged out visitors Acomb ‘B’.
The top two teams in division three, Jubilee and Shoulder ‘A’, both had a free week.
Shepherd ‘A’ captain Maggie Bedingham closed 83 in her singles in a 7-4 win over Shoulder ‘B’.
