PUPILS from a school near York will be celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight tomorrow by using a specially-adapted bike as a source of power to make smoothies.
The treats will be made by children at Pocklington Montessori School, using Fairtrade bananas donated by the town’s Sainsbury’s store.
The bike has been loaned by the York Environment Centre, with the aim being for the pupils to also learn more about sustainable energy.
