THE co-ordinator of York International Women’s Week has praised the “huge effort being made by scores of women to put on another festival full of diversity, entertainment, healing, challenge and learning”.
Sue Lister said the week, which runs from this Saturday until March 10, will look back in history to the Women’s Land Army and take people on a Choccy & Sweetie Tour to learn about the history of the city’s chocolatiers and to sample their goodies.
She said she was directing the Real People Theatre show, Dementia & Me, which will be presented on Monday and Tuesday at York St John University, and on Friday, March 8, at the Bar Convent.
Sue said: “If you feel stressed or want to treat yourself, there are many workshops and therapies to try: laughter and self-hypnosis, Buddhist and crystal meditation, life coaching, tui na and reflexology, chiropractic, yoga, massage of various kinds including oriental facials and aromatherapy.”
