A CHANCE to recreate the life and times of one of Britain’s greatest crime writers is on offer later this month.
St Wilfrid’s Church Hall in Harrogate will be the venue for Agatha Christie And Art Deco, a costume presentation event, on Tuesday, March 12, at 2pm.
The event, based around the crime writer’s life, including her 11-day disappearance and discovery in a Harrogate hotel, has the added twist of a mystery to solve.
Characters from Christie’s era are brought to life through dramatic readings and dazzling Deco fashions from the 1920s and 1930s – dainty day dresses, beaded “flapper” frocks and sweeping evening gowns – in this History Wardrobe costume presentation.
Tickets for the event cost £12.50, including refreshments, and can be booked on 01423 556188, at museums@harrogate.gov.uk or at the Mercer Art Gallery.
