ONCE again Coun Sandy Fraser utters bile in his attack on Conservative and Liberal Democrat councillors who refused to support his ‘motion’ at a recent meeting of the health scrutiny committee (Letters, February 26).
While we do seek the best deal for our residents, we cannot support his politically motivated rants which are now common at every meeting. I feel for the chair of the committee (also a member of his party) who tries to conduct meetings in a professional manner.
Along with healthcare professionals, I have acknowledged the need for funding formulas for York and North Yorkshire to address historic debts within the health service.
MPs across North Yorkshire, including York Outer MP Julian Sturdy, have already asked the Secretary of State to take into account demographic changes such as our ageing population and rural nature the county.
Coun Paul Doughty, Conservative, Strensall ward.
