THORPE United Under-14s went top of Garforth Junior Football League division one with a 3-1 home victory over Wakefield Jets.
Thorpe leapfrogged Garforth Villa, who were without a game, to take a two-point lead at the summit.
The hosts’ opening goal came after Richard Buckthorpe intercepted the ball and fed Corey Littlefield, whose shot from distance dipped under the crossbar.
Wakefield levelled after the break, but Thorpe restored their lead moments later when Sean Hymers netted.
The visitors then hit the bar before Thorpe secured the points through James Arnold.
