FULFORD and Copmanthorpe Cobras are battling it out for the under-12s title in the City of York Girls’ Football League.
Cobras beat village rivals Copmanthorpe Eagles 3-1 to keep up the pressure on leaders Fulford, who are one point ahead having played a game more.
The Eagles took an early lead with a goal direct from a corner. The Cobras equalised shortly before half-time through Molly Braizenall.
Braizenall scored a second midway through the second half and completed her hat-trick shortly before full-time with a strong shot into the top corner.
Fulford retained their position at the top thanks to a 3-0 victory over York Railway Insitute.
