Where did you meet?
Dean plays rugby for East Leeds Rugby Club, where we share the same circle of friends. We first met at a friend’s birthday party, where we started to get to know each other, but spent the first few years knowing each other as friends
What attracted you to him?
I was attracted to Dean through his good looks, kind, caring personality and the way he always puts others before himself.
Where did he propose?
Dean proposed on the Island of Majorca in the resort of Alcudia. Having chosen a restaurant and told me to wear my best dress, Dean took me to the beach, where he then proposed.
The dress
My dress was from from a bridal boutique in Wakefield called Amazing Brides. The dress itself was designed and made by the staff there. I chose a dark ivory as I felt it complimented my skin tone. The reason I chose this dress was the way it fitted, how it complimented my figure and how elegant it made me feel. The dress was ebroidered with pearls which fitted in with my wedding theme of pastel colours and pearl accessories. Choosing a dress wasn’t easy but having tried a few on, I knew this one was perfect for me.
The groom
Dean wore a grey morning suit with a cream waistcoat and cravat.
Bridesmaids
I had one maid of honour, Dean’s sister Georgia, who is also my best friend. I also had five more adult bridesmaids and three flower girls. The adults all wore palepink floor-length maxi-dresses with a shoulder strap of roses. The flower girls wore white dresses trimmed with a pale-pink waistband decorated with roses.
Flowers
I had a waterfall of white lilies with sparkles. The bridesmaid’s flowers were tight bunches of pale pink and cream roses, each with a clear stone placed in the centre.
Transport
We travelled in a cream Beauford.
Entertainment
Day guests were greeted by a trio who continued to play throughout the meal. Our evening entertainment was a jazz band and DJ.
Honeymoon
We spent our honeymoon in Langkawi, which is a small island off Malaysia, where we enjoyed two weeks in full relaxation mode.
