I AGREE with those who oppose the proposal to create three new pubs in York and to spend half a million pounds refurbishing King’s Square.
It would make more sense to convert the three empty shops into affordable in-town housing, and to spend that £500,000 on something like repairing York’s poor and pot-holed roads, and/or a new recycling depot that can handle many of the reusable items that we all just have to throw away.
