BISHOP Burton College will opens it campus for visitors to explore next month.

The Town & Country Day, on Sunday, May 26, will include rural crafts, rugby, falconry, stunt performers and British eventing horse trials.

The college will be showcasing its recently completed ottery, with new recruits, otters Bea and Phil, able to meet the public for the first time, along with the ever popular meerkats, llamas, snakes, wallabies and more.

Visitors are invited to bring their pets to enter a fun dog show and the children’s zone will be running games and activities all day.

The event is run entirely by students and staff, which creates a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere and last year it attracted more than 5,000 visitors.

Last year was the first time teh day was planned to coincide with the horse trials.

Admission to the event is £5 per person and £15 for a family of four. Entry is free for under three-year-olds. It will open from 10am to 5pm.

Tickets will be available at shop.bishopburton.ac.uk/ or on the gate. A pre-booked, two-course lunch also available.

A Park&Ride service will run from Beverley Westwood and a free bus service will operate from York, Beverley and Hull Bus Stations. Bus timetable available at bishopburton.ac.uk
