IS OUR national dish being devalued? Or are our taste buds failing?
We know there are tons of foreign haddock imported, and the taste and firmness are not as tasty and good as locally caught haddock.
It lacks flavour and is flakier. But you don’t expect it to be sold in the best fish and chip shop we know, three miles from the coast, where we were this week. We have been enjoying local haddock for too long not to know the difference.
Has anyone else noticed the difference? It’s not as good, in our opinion and those who still sell locally caught haddock would benefit from advertising and making it known.
