THE Press of April 22 was even more illuminating than usual through three articles: On page 13, I note that a couple who have had to have their house altered to accommodate a permanent disability have been told that their house is now too big and that the “bedroom tax” applies. Any shortfall will be covered only until March 2014. What happens then?
On page eight, I see that Yorkshire Coastliner buses will cease calling at stops less than 15 miles apart east of York because picking up passengers loses money.
To cap it all, on page five there are complaints by York City Football Club that the new ‘flagship’ Monks Cross stadium (funded, in part, by City of York Council) is now too small. The alleged response from James Alexander is “not available to comment”.
Is the world mad or am I missing something?
