I WOULD like to comment on fans being locked out of Bootham Crescent on Saturday (The Press, April 22).
I have rung up on occasions to buy tickets for home games and been told I can buy on the gate and again I was told for the Southend game that I could pay on the door. I’m glad I didn’t as I would have been annoyed as I have been there through thick and thin. I think if someone wants to ring up buy a ticket they should be encouraged so that numbers can be taken on how many are coming through the gates.
The safety certificate City has to adhere to must have the number the ground can hold and the number of tickets sold, plus season ticket holders. Someone must be taking numbers of how many have come through the gates on match days.
There needs to be a better system in place that fans can feel happy with and can attend games without having to worry about being turned away.
