CYCLISTS are gearing up the Wetherby bike ride.
Last year the event, 233 people took part and raised £4,195 for Cancer Research UK.
It has been organised for the past 15 years by Ann and Jeff Newton.
There is a choice of two routes, both start and end in the car park at the High School on Hallfield Lane, the shorter one is 20 miles and the longer one 30 miles, both distances are approximate.
The routes are suitable for cyclists of all abilities and are open to adults, children from the age of 12 and accompanied younger children.
Ann said: “We have seen the benefits that the money raised has provided in terms of the improvements in cancer detection and treatment, particularly in the impact this has had on the quality of life for those people diagnosed.”
The event is being sponsored by Cyclesense of Tadcaster.
Entry fees are £8 for adults, £4.50 for children and £19.50 for families. Phone 01937 841470, email info@wetherbycycleride.org.uk or visit wetherbycycleride.org.uk
