The Cancer Care Centre (CCC) at York Hospital has launched a £20,000 appeal to create a garden and walkway area for use by anyone affected by cancer.
As part of the project a piece of stone art, incorporating a short piece of creative writing, will be fixed to the wall in the new garden.
The CCC is now asking the public to come up with suggestions for what should be engraved on the artwork.
Jane Archer, CCC manager said, “We are delighted that this is being donated, but we need to have something written on the beautiful piece of stone which we can display in the garden. We really want to involve the public in this project and we felt this was a nice way to do so.
“Many people in the local community will use the new garden if they visit the CCC so we wanted to involve everybody in creating this piece.”
Suggestions should be returned to Jane Archer at the CCC in York Hospital by Friday, May 10, or emailed to jane.archer@york.nhs.uk
