A COMMUNITY fund set up by a York charity has provided cash for a series of free club activities and courses for over-55s.
Three different weekly clubs will start running in May to provide opportunities for older people to share skills and learn new ones – including gardening, wildlife and crafts – as well as to socialise.
The funding has come from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation’s Derwenthorpe Community Fund and the programme will be run by the Friends of St Nicholas Fields from York Environment Centre.
