THEY may have been a long time coming, but the signs of spring are finally here – though don’t expect them to last too long.
As these pictures show, the arrival of sunshine has brought out the daffodils on York’s bar walls and Museum Gardens, and blossom in the trees.
It’s all a far cry from the snow and wintry conditions seen throughout the first three months of the year, which led the daffodil bulbs at Cliffords Tower to stay closed later than they did last year.
Although the weather is improving, with sunshine and cloud expected today, forecasters have predicted a mix of sunshine and light showers on Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures expected to reach about seven degrees centigrade, but feeling more like four or five.
