The Purey Cust Trust in York has donated £8,000 to a ward at York Hospital which deals with people with physical and mental health problems.
Patients in Ward 37 can find the experience of being in hospital very confusing and even frightening.
The York Teaching Hospital charity is trying to raise funds to create a more welcoming and calming environment. This will include a bright colourful ward with improved signposting so that patients can find bed areas, bathrooms, and places to sit far more easily.
The Purey Cust Trust aims to promote the advancement of health and healing in and around the City of York area through grants to individuals, organisations and registered charities.
