POLICE are hunting the driver of a van which crashed into a car carrying two young children in a North Yorkshire street before speeding off.
The van collided with a red Rover being driven by a 32-year-old man and which had a nine-year-old child and an 18-month-old child aboard on Knaresborough Road in Starbeck, Harrogate, at about 5.50pm yesterday.
North Yorkshire Police said the crash caused "considerable damage" and the van, which had been driven down the middle of the road past stationary traffic and swerved across the front of the Rover, sped down Wedderburn Avenue without stopping at the scene.
Nobody was seriously injured, but anybody with information about the crash should phone Traffic Constable Stuart Holden on 101 or e-mail stuart.holden@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
