POLICE and door staff helped to rescue a woman from the River Ouse in the centre of York over the weekend.
The woman was seen in difficulties on the stretch of the river near Ouse Bridge at about 12.40am on Saturday, and is believed to have been sitting in the middle of a life ring at the time.
Police officers were called to the scene and were also helped by door staff from nearby Yates’ Wine Lodge. She was checked over at the scene, but not injured.
