Students from a North Yorkshire school have been presented with their Duke of Edinburgh awards in the stunning surroundings of Selby Abbey.
The annual ceremony saw 34 pupils from Brayton High School, Selby, join other winners, aged between 14 and 20, at the 11th-century abbey.
Their awards were presented by Neil Forrest, Duke of Edinburgh director for Yorkshire and Humber, and featured a solo from singer Megan Hughes, from Read School, Selby.
Ian Turnbull, a freelance outdoor education teacher, who organised the Brayton High School Duke of Edinburgh scheme, said: “It was a wonderful night in wonderful surroundings. It was a formal occasion for the young people and I hope parents enjoyed seeing them receive their awards.”
