PROPOSALS to boost York’s economy through recent Government moves to localise powers will be considered by City of York Council’s cabinet next month.
Members will consider proposals to strengthen the links between York and the Leeds City Region’s Local Enterprise Partnership’s City Deal. Council leader James Alexander said the authority was committed to more devolution to the region.
“I see the City Deal as an important first step towards this aim,” he said.
“It is a significant move forward in the economic ambition for this city and positions us as a major economic player in the region.”
