STAFF at a York store raised more than £1,000 for charity Epilepsy Action, writes Darren Waddle.
A recent fundraising day at Sainsbury’s Foss Bank store in York saw customers and employees generously donate £1,198.82 to the national charity, which acts as a voice for those who suffer from the condition in the UK, a figure estimated to be approximately 600,000 people.
The charity’s Helen Whiteley and Kirendeep Madaher visited the supermarket and were delighted to collect the cheque from store manager, Neil Bartram.
The charity was selected to be the beneficiares of the fundraising efforts after performing an impressive pitch to the store.
The money was raised through a combination of raffles, cake sales and individual fundraising activities.
