PUPILS of Escrick CE Primary School were the first to have fun on a new zip slide installed at a neighbouring play park.
Pupil Imogen Woods, ten, was one of the first to have a go on the equipment, which was bought thanks to a fundraising drive by a group of village volunteers who had formed a park committee.
Chelo Brooks, head teacher at the school, said the pupils were invited down to the park for the official unveiling.
She said: “The children were really excited. We had a competition to see who would be the first one to use the slide.”
