I WONDER if the inspectors involved with the university expansion, Derwenthorpe or Germany Beck ever feel guilty for the damage they are causing to York’s beautiful green belt? I wonder if they have revisited York to see the damage that has been done, especially with all the flooding.
It is devastating enough to lose good agricultural land, but now to have even more earmarked for housing is a disgrace and a sad example of democracy. This has been sneakily done without even the decency of consulting all the tenant farmers who will be affected.
I just wind wish the locals would get out and vote for a “local” who has lived and experienced the history of a once-beautiful city. Please, no more students straight out of university.
Sally Hawkswell, Heslington, York.
