ARMED police were called to a house in Tadcaster last night after a man entered the building with a machete.
Police were called to the house in Spring Hill at about 8.30pm following reports from local residents, bringing with them armed officers and trained police negotiators.
It is alleged the man made threats to the occupants of the property, but nobody was injured in the incident.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said a 22-year-old man was compliant as he left the property at 12.30am, and was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
The man remains in police custody as enquiries continue.
