A LORRY has overturned on the B1228 Northfield Road, close to Bubwith, leaving to heavy traffic building up and the road being closed in both directions.
The incident occurred at about 1.05pm today, when a blue Renault HGV carrying wood overturned, with part of the vehicle ending up in a field next to the road.
A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said the Yorkshire Ambulance Service were called to the scene, and the driver of the wagon was taken to Harrogate Royal Infirmary, though his injuries were not thought to be serious.
The incident happened at the junction of the A163 and Willitoft Road, and the road closure is affecting traffic between Howden and Bubwith.
The road is expected to remain closed until about 4pm to allow recovery of the lorry.
