STUDENTS and staff at the University of York are teaming up with local residents to raise money for two projects as part of the institution’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
Their efforts will help restore the Snowball Outdoor Activity Centre, which provides camping, sport and adventure opportunities, and the university’s Achieving Excellence Bursary Fund, which helps undergraduates from lower-income families.
People are invited to take part in the York@50 Bike Ride Challenge organised by the university’s Cycle Club on June 2, over either 25 or 50 miles.
Visit YorkSpace.net/Cycle online for details. Information on Project Snowball is available from paul.tyack@york.ac.uk
