I DIDN’T see the abnormal load referred to by Roger Bruton in his letter “Burden for road users” (Letters, April 29), so I will hazard a guess as to why that route was chosen.
Wide loads are often high as well and the York to Hull route has no over bridges that exist on the A64, A1 and M62.
So I think this will be the reason, but I am sure City of York Council will be pleased that someone has found a way of avoiding bridges as they obviously don’t like residents using the bridges over the river. Lendal today; Ouse Bridge tomorrow?
Maybe we should just be pleased that something has been manufactured here and sold abroad. The inconvenience on the road will be as nothing when the council has finally closed down York centre.
