LOCAL produce will be celebrated at Boroughbridge’s Plot to Plate festival on May 11 and 12.
The festival, which is in its second year, is organised by the Boroughbridge Allotment Society and features stalls selling locally-grown food and handmade goods from fruit and vegetables to chocolate lollipops, cakes, gingerbread, jams and preserves to pies, sausages, meats, cheeses, beers – and even locally-made gin.
There will be a children’s fancy dress competition, face-painting, a treasure hunt and a petting farm, as well as the chance for children to plant their own vegetables, a scarecrow trail, Morris dancers and demonstrations of country crafts.
The Great Boroughbridge Bake Off will also be judged at the festival by TV chef Stephanie Moon from Rudding Park, Sophie Jowett from York Cocoa House and Jonathan Batchelor of Harrogate’s Ramus Seafoods.
The event will also raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
