Performing Arts students studying acting at York College have taken part in auditions with three of the region’s leading theatre companies – Pilot Theatre, Slung Low and York Theatre Royal – and their forthcoming collaborative production of Blood + Chocolate.
The play tells the story of the sacrifice made by chocolate workers from York during the First World War.
The students’ performances in will be assessed as part of their extended diploma in performing arts acting. They will join a cast of 200 local people for a promenade production of the piece through the streets of York in October.
Producer Liam Ford-Evans said: “This will be an epic, cinematic theatrical experience and we are pleased to be able to offer York College students a really interesting project to work on.”
