Joan Jackson won a thrilling ladies over-55s singles final, where she beat Melanie Brooke 21-14 – her third successive conquest.
But it was a tough fight as Brooke led 14-12 before Jackson won four successive ends with a three and then three twos to finish 21-14.
Alan Vowles retained his veterans’ singles title after beating Dave Pearson 21-19.
Vowles took the lead on the third end and didn’t go behind again but he couldn’t shake off a resolute Pearson who kept rallying.
Finally, with the game standing at 20-19, Vowles managed to get the all important single to clinch victory.
Dave Kermode got off to a flier in the vets’ singles plate, leading 8-0 after four ends, stretching that to 20-7.
But opponent Graham Instone roared back to 20-15 before a cruel deflection ended his hopes for Kermode to win 21-15.
