CHARITY shop workers in York donned animal costumes before heading to work to mark RSPCA Week.
Staff at the RSPCA store in Gillygate are continuing their celebrations until tomorrow. Store manager Ann Wallace said customers can expect to be welcomed by cats, dogs and rabbits or people casually dressed in their onesies and pyjamas.
In addition to the fancy dress antics, employees are organising activities for customers to get involved, including bunting and balloon modelling.
There is also an opportunity for shoppers to take advantage of some bargain hunting, with a £1 reduction on most items in store, including all clothes, shoes, board games and electrical products.
Celebrations will eventually build up to some further fancy-dress fun on Monday at the York RSPCA Animal Home, in Landing Lane, where there will be a variety of fundraising activities, as well as the Staffordshire Bull Terrier appreciation day dog show.
