A FUND has been launched which council bosses say will pay for “high-impact” projects by community and voluntary groups across York.
The 2013/14 York Community Fund, run by social enterprise Your Consortium, will bring together various funding streams from City of York Council to support the city’s voluntary sector.
Last year, 14 organisations received money to deliver projects, including establishing a food bank, repairing bikes for those recovering from mental health issues and helping parents with behaviour management tips.
Coun Dafydd Williams said: “The fantastic work carried out by York’s voluntary sector is testament to the careful allocation of this fund, and we are welcoming applications for this year’s funding and looking forward to making a further difference in the city over the next year.”
Your Consortium’s chief executive Sue Vasey said the fund had already seen a “dynamic impact” across York.
