A GIANT lung has been greeting customers at a Selby pharmacy, to raise awareness of World Asthma Day.
Arc Pharmacy in Portholme Road has put the model on display as part of a scheme which hopes to target the estimated 70 per cent of people with asthma in the UK, who are not fully in control of their condition.
Pharmacist, Mike Sobczak said: “We want to support people with asthma and would encourage those with the condition to come and see us so we can check they are using their medication correctly and offer advice on how to manage their condition.
“Asthma attacks can be extremely distressing and as part of the All About Health programme and website allabouthealth.org.uk we want to do everything we can to show how, with correct medicine management, asthma shouldn’t stop you from achieving all you want to.”
