POCKLINGTON Predators Under-15s clinched the York Mitchell Sports Football League division one title and immediately set their sights on a trophy double.
The East Yorkshire youngsters take on Wheldrake on Monday at Tockwith in the final of the York FA U15s Minor Cup.
They go into the final having pipped Poppleton Tigers to the championship after a 5-1 win at home to Fulford that extended their unbeaten run to 12 league matches.
Poppleton lost two games in quick succession and Pock took full advantage to seal back-to-back titles.
Fulford had won the reverse fixture 2-0, inflicting Pocklington’s only defeat of the season, but the home side made the perfect start when striker Danny Shaw scored after five minutes.
Pock went 2-0 up when Shaw’s shot was parried and George Pilkington lashed the ball into the net.
The home side scored again 30 seconds into the second half through substitute Ollie Hughes, but Fulford then pulled a goal back.
On the hour, Joe Aconley and Hughes combined to create a goal for Shaw and Pilkington was credited with the fifth when he charged down the ’keeper’s clearance and the ball rebounded into the net.
