A ROBBER got away with cash from a North Yorkshire store when he threatened staff with a knife today at lunchtime.
Police searched the area around the One Stop Community Stores on Devonshire Place in Harrogate and issued an urgent witness appeal. The raider was wearing a white or grey hoodie with grey or white tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Sergeant Paul Schofield, of Harrogate CID, said: "The shop is on a busy road in a residential area and we expect a number of people to have been around at the time of the robbery. I would like anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident or saw a man matching the suspect's description to contact the police a soon as possible."
Anyone who can help police should contact North Yorkshire Police by calling 101, select option 2 and ask for Harrogate CID, giving reference number 12130071728, or by ringing Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
