YORK Outer MP Julian Sturdy has reiterated his opposition to City of York Council proposals in its Local Plan to allocate land at Knapton for a showpeople’s yard.
The Tory MP hosted a well-attended public meeting on Saturday in Upper Poppleton, where he encouraged as many residents as possible to make their objection known by taking part in a forthcoming consultation process. “I am deeply concerned about a number of the proposals within the council’s draft Local Plan,” he said.
He revealed that he planned to host a series of public meetings around the constituency to get the message across. “My challenge to the council is to listen and to act upon the views of my constituents,” he added.
