WHAT a wonderful game of football it was when Borrusia Dortmund and Bayern Munich contested the European League Champions Cup at Wembley.
The game had everything: skill, determination, superb goalkeeping saves, good long-range shots, effort, sportsmanship, passionate supporters, and very well refereed by the Italian in charge.
There was no hounding of the referee or linesmen, only one bad foul (by Rubery), no time wasting or cheating.
The ‘Reliant Robben’ wriggled through for a dramatic last-minute goal. There had been the inevitable great German penalty kick.
The only sad thing was that someone had to lose that ever so evenly matched game. I enjoyed every minute of a truly excellent German victory; well done to all concerned.
