SCIENTISTS and healthcare workers demonstrated how diseases are being tackled to shoppers in York city centre.
Science Out Of The Lab, an interactive York Festival of Ideas event in St Sampson’s Square, explored the treatment and prevention of a range of chronic diseases and disorders that affect people of all ages.
“This was an opportunity to talk face-to-face with scientists who work to prevent and cure disease and to develop an understanding about the various dimensions of chronic diseases and disorders – scientifically and historically,” said a spokeswoman.
Today’s Festival of Ideas events include a talk by author Psiche Hughes about author Beryl Bainbridge’s painting, and how it interlinked with her writing and her life, at 6pm at the University of York’s Ron Cooke Hub.
Admission is free, but booking is required by going to yorkfestivalofideas.com/2013/talks/beryl-bainbridge-writer-artist-friend/
