Osbaldwick Parish Council is to stage a poll over proposals in the York Local Plan to allocate housing land.
The poll will ask whether residents agree with proposals to build 1,800 homes east of Metcalfe Lane, 211 homes next to Grimston Bar at Murton and 154 on land east of Grimston Bar, off Hull Road.
The parish has asked City of York Council to organise the poll, but the parish will meet the costs.
