There has been one major topic of conversation on everybody's lips this past week – the heat! The summer months have finally arrived, and that means only one thing in the Reeds Rains Office – more and more residential and lettings listings (and BBQ's!).
A recent article in The Economist highlighted Yorks strong appeal to young professionals and families alike. In recent years York has seen a plethora of new start ups (such as those based at York Universities Heslington Court Campus) as well as large multi nationals set up camp in York. Nestle and Aviva are only two large companies on a long list of potential draws for those looking for a better quality of life. Yorks employment rate is a strong 78% compared to a national average of 71% and strong wages have buoyed the property market.
Julie Taylor, our in house mortgage and protection adviser has noticed the strong incline of investors and graduates alike who are wanting to cash in on Yorks strong property market. With over 12 years of experience within Reeds Rains, Julie is the woman to speak to in regards to any aspect of mortgage advice – its also her birthday on Thursday!
