A STAR of the small screen entertained crowds at Tockwith Show by demonstrating her sheepdog skills at herding ducks, geese and even children.
Carol Mellin, of TV’s The Dales, was at the event yesterday and performed in the main ring along with the Kirkbourne Spaniels display team.
Show chairman Lisa Chasney said they had a wonderful day, with bumper entries in the fur and feather, sheep and horticulture classes.
“We have had a really good day, and the weather has been on our side, which is fantastic,” Lisa said.
The show also saw almost 50 vintage tractors perform a “fly-past” in the main ring, followed by a parade of classic cars.
Lisa said: “It’s my first year as chairman and I have really enjoyed it. We’ve had lots of volunteers and it’s all down to their teamwork.
“The highlight for me was the dog dash, a rather noisy competition with the dogs running towards their owners at the other end of the arena.”
