THOUSANDS of bikers descended on Escrick for a weekend celebration of motorcycling.
The Yorkshire Pudding Rally, organised by Motorcycle Action Yorkshire, took place in Escrick for the first time from Friday until yesterday, after the rally lost its previous site near Sheffield to development.
With 1,700 bikers at the sold-out event, organiser Peter Walker said the weekend had gone “brilliantly”, even though bikers camping on the Friday night had been hit by a thunderstorm.
“It was spectacular, you couldn’t have paid for it. But we’re all old hands here so everyone just got on with things,” he said.
The weekend included a custom bike show and bands on the Friday and Saturday evening.
There was also a comedy show and event cake stalls provided by Escrick church.
Mr Walker also thanked Charles Forbes Adam, owner of Escrick Park, for welcoming the rally on to his land.
