A FATHER has been jailed after his emotional outbursts in the street distressed his children.
Anthony John Mancham, 43, breached a restraining order, imposed to protect his ex-partner after their relationship broke down, and caused scenes in the street when he saw them, said Alan Mitcheson, prosecuting, at York Crown Court.
The ex-partner wanted him to keep contact with the children but only by following the approved procedure. But instead he had repeatedly accosted the family in the street.
“The attempts to contact the family are very distressing for the complainant, but more significantly for the children who witnessed his behaviour, his lack of control,” said Mr Mitcheson.
Mancham, formerly of Hawthorn Street, York, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order and harassment and was jailed for eight months.
His barrister, Steven Crossley, said Mancham now intended to return to the Seychelles as he accepted the relationship was over.
He said any attempt to see his children to say goodbye after his release from prison would be done in a way that did not breach the restraining order.
The court heard that Mancham had not threatened anyone when he breached the order.
He had also previously breached the order.
