WHAT a sad day for York not to see a Rowntrees football team playing (The Press, August 14).
The old Rowntrees family would not have liked to see this happen.
They had some of their best years under Jim Collis as in this photograph.
Jim, I think, would have done the York City job better than some they had in the 1980s and 1990s.
