A vintage bus fair marked 45 years since the closure of an old bus terminus.
The annual event at the Royal Forest Hotel in Chingford on Saturday features a display of vintage buses from the 1960s and 1970s.
The terminus closed in 1968 and Jim Blake, 65, of North London and Essex Events, helps to keep the memory of the old bus routes alive.
He said: “It was quite a successful event, despite the heavy rain, lots of people enjoyed themselves and a few of us went back to our childhoods.”
“There is the nostalgic element for the older people who attend the fair as they travelled on the buses to the terminus all those years ago.”
“It’s important to celebrate this day, to remember the history and continue the upkeep of these buses.”
