THE BY-ELECTION for the South Selby seat on North Yorkshire County Council has been won by Conservative Mike Jordan.
The vacancy arose after the death of Coun Margaret Hulme while on holiday in June. Coun Jordan received 592 votes, Labour’s Rod Price was second with 525 votes, UKIP’s Colin Heath polled 282 votes, and Independent David McSherry was last with 201 votes.
