IT COULD be assumed that the majority of local drivers are now well aware of the closure of Lendal Bridge and that most of those being penalised are therefore visitors to the city.

Does this not make the case that either the signage is inadequate, or that the whole concept is flawed?

Whatever the reason, it is an appalling way to treat visitors.
